In a news published by THE CABLE NEWS, some market women in the Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State trooped out to protest against the rising cost of living in the country. According to the news platform, the women who held placards appealed to the President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmad Tinubu to rescue Nigerians because the suffering is becoming unbearable. It was gathered that the placards carried by the protesting women had inscriptions like,
“Baba Tinubu, Nigerians are hungry” and “Tinubu, come and rescue us”.
It was gathered that the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) reacted to the development by blaming the opposition parties. THE CABLE NEWS reported that APC claimed that the recent protests in Nigeria regarding the hike in commodities were instigated by opposition parties to undermine the effort of the President.
It was gathered that over the past few days, Nigerians have taken to the streets in some states like Osun, Niger, and Kano to protest over the rising cost of living in the country which has left many people in distress.
