In a report published by Daily Trust few minutes ago, women at the Diobu area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State Capital, on Tuesday, marched to the office of Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHED) over their inability to enjoy conjugal relationship with their husbands due to heat.
Equipped with placards with different inscriptions the women lamented the hardship they were passing through. Some of the inscription written on the placards included ‘No Light, No Payment, The Heat Is Too Much etc.
The protesting women disclosed that their husbands no longer touch them at night due to heat and their inability to preserve cooked foods for weeks due to power outage.
Speaking further, they said their businesses had been grounded because of poor power supply.
Reacting to the protest, PHED Public Relation Officer, Livingstone Koko,said that the issue of poor power supply was a general issue in the country and that they’re are trying all their best to not just work on but improve power supply in the state.
