A public affairs analyst and former governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom State, Ezekiel Nya-Etok has faulted the timing of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s private visit to France.
In an interview on Plus TV Africa, Mr Nya-Etok said there is no emotional intelligence in the president’s private visit to France considering the current state of the nation.
He said,
“I think there is no emotional intelligence, and I don’t know who the advisers of Mr president is, for what is happening today for the President to proceed on a private visit.
Now a man like Falana has said there is no provision in the constitution for private visit of a president. I can understand when he proceeds on leave. If that happens, he has his liberty to do certain things.
But when you go with the jet of the federal republic of Nigeria, you go with the retinue of people that are paid and probably still getting estacode (I’m not sure of that), and call that a private visit? No it’s not.
That is on one hand, but what is more worrisome is the time. The Bible says all things are lawful but not all things are expedient.”
