Chioma Jasmine Okafor, the adopted daughter of John Okafor, better known as Mr. Ibu, recently took to social media to address inquiries about her family ties and her continued association with the Mr. Ibu family.
According to a a video Jasmine Posted, she said “people often ask me if I don’t have afamily, why don’t I leave Me Ibu family alone”
According to Jasmine, she said Years ago, she lost her biological father, a Nigerian soldier who shared a close friendship with Mr. Ibu. Following her father’s passing, Mr. Ibu assumed a paternal role in her life, offering unwavering support and guidance. She emphasized that Mr. Ibu has consistently been there for her, filling the void left by her late father.
She said, in 2018, she relocated to another country in pursuit of better opportunities. Despite initial challenges, she found her footing and was making strides in her endeavors.
However, in 2020, she received unexpected messages from Mr. Ibu on WhatsApp, requesting financial assistance. This made her speechless as Mr. Ibu had been financially stable before leaving the country.
Being Concerned, she reached out to Mr. Ibu to inquire about his well-being. Unfortunate, he disclosed that he had been sick and residing in Abuja for the past two years.
Further probing revealed that Mr. Ibu had separated from his wife and abandoned their children in Lagos. Disturbed by this revelation, he contacted Mr. Ibu’s wife, who corroborated the dire situation she and her children were facing.
Moved by compassion, she offered her support to Mr. Ibu’s wife, providing financial assistance and emotional encouragement. She maintained regular communication with Mr. Ibu’s family, often liaising with his wife to ensure the children’s welfare. Despite being a student in Cyprus.
She went to great lengths, at times borrowing money, to assist Mr. Ibu’s family in their time of need. Jasmine disclosed sacrifice she as made for the family, and the bond they have shared. Check out the video above for all what she said.
