Hon. Leke Abejide, representing Yagba Constituency in Kogi State’s House of Representatives, in a news published by Nigerian Tribune, called for Nigerians’ patience, suggesting a two-year wait to witness the impact of President Bola Ahmad Tinubu’s policies.
As a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Chairman of the Customs and Excise Committee, Abejide emphasizes the necessity of closed borders to thwart potential security threats from neighboring countries undergoing military coups.
Speaking at a reception organized by Yoruba residents in Kano, Hon. Abejide expressed confidence in Tinubu’s ability to enhance the nation’s economy. He likened the current situation to the pain of childbirth, emphasizing the eventual positive outcome.
Despite acknowledging the hardship faced by citizens, Abejide urged patience, asserting that transformative economic changes would materialize within the stipulated timeframe.
He said:
“If you are looking at the policies they are making, you will know that we should give at least two years. I know it is a long time for people who are in hardship, but in less than two years, you will see the impact; the economy is going to be transformed. I have that belief.
“In fact, the person you are talking about is an expert in the financial sector and has a lot of experience. He knows what he is doing and what the result will be. My advice to the people is that we remain patient, and the result will be good for all of us,” he said.
