Peter Obi, the ex-Governor of Anambra State, expressed joy in attending the 80th birthday celebration of Cardinal John Onaiyekan in Abuja, alongside other esteemed Nigerians.
The occasion included a book launch and fundraising for the Cardinal Onaiyekan Foundation for Peace, as shared on his verified Facebook page.
He added;
“I was delighted to honour and celebrate this great Nigerian whose courageous fatherly voice has continued to echo for a better Nigeria.
He has remained an ardent promoter of peace, a lover of humanity, and an apostle of good governance.”
Additionally, he remarked,
“Cardinal Onaiyekan has dedicated numerous years to serving the Church and our Nigerian community with distinction.
Through the Cardinal Onaiyekan Foundation for Peace, established over ten years ago, he persistently promotes social justice, harmonious living, and national advancement.
