Fifteen state governors in Nigeria have formed vigilante squads comprising at least 52,106 individuals to counteract the rising threats posed by kidnappers and bandits.
Findings indicate that governors of Delta, Kano, Plateau, Sokoto, and 11 other states have assembled a coalition of vigilantes, hunters, and neighborhood watch groups to fight criminality.
These groups are intended to work in tandem with the police and other security forces to enhance efforts against criminal activities.
