Executive Director at Authority Newspaper, Chuks Akunna, has suspected foul play in the state of insecurity in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT);
as he maintained that the crisis in the Nation’s capital may be politically motivated.
Chuks Akunna had said,
“I may be wrong, but I think the crisis in the FCT is politically motivated, I might be wrong. Because suddenly, the FCT becomes the epicentre of kidnapping, you know — everyday kidnapping.
Exactly, you know the witch cries at night, the child dies in the morning, you understand. And you can’t tell me that — because Abuja that used to be very very safe, suddenly everyday kidnapping…”
Akunna, who spoke during an interview on Kakaaki, an AIT Television programme, said since the immediate past Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, assumed Office as FCT Minister, the rate of kidnapping has increased. He added that Abuja used to be very safe; and wondered if the crisis is politically motivated.
