Five matches went down last night in the English Premier League as we saw the likes of Arsenal, Newcastle United, Everton and Crystal Palace in action.
However, the standout fixture of the night was at Kenilworth Road where relegation placed Luton Town surprisingly trashed seventh placed Brighton & Hove Albion 4-0.
The Hatters put up of one their best performances of the season so far to secure a win that took them off the relegation zone
The highlight of the game however was the hattrick scored by Luton Town star Elijah Adebayo.
The 26-year-old opened the scoring in the first minute of the game, scored a brace three minutes before halftime and then completed his hattrick in the 59th minute.
The Nigerian-descent striker who is of the Yoruba origin becomes the first-ever Luton player to score a Premier League hattrick and the first player to do so in the league in 2024.
While celebrating their strikers’ achievement on Twitter, Luton Town took the opportunity to list out Elijah’s full name which comprises of six Yoruba names namely – Anuoluwapo Oluwaferanmi Oluwatomi Oluwalana Ayomikulehin Adebayo.
Elijah has been on of the club’s best players so far thus season. He has netted 8 goals in 21 league appearances this season.
