Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, addressed a meeting of the Abia state APC stakeholders’ forum in Abuja. He declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will emerge victorious in the 2027 presidential election, citing a surge in interest from potential party members. However, he emphasized that there is a need for unity and reconciliation within the Abia state chapter of the party to achieve this goal.
Kalu urged forgiveness and reconciliation among aggrieved members, calling it the “panacea” for future electoral success. He emphasized the importance of working together in the interest of the party, the state, and the nation at large.
Kalu encouraged the members of the party to reach out to those who are angry with humility and offer them a sense of belonging. He urged them to identify the one soul who is missing, identify the problem, and set an agenda on how to achieve it. He emphasized that unity is of utmost importance to the party at this time.
Kalu also highlighted the importance of quality, capacity, integrity, transparency, and accountability in the party. He urged members to lobby for policies that will benefit the Abia state and the nation at large, regardless of their political affiliations.
He encouraged the stakeholders to raise a resolution to recall everyone who was suspended from the party and to work towards unifying the party. He urged them to make sacrifices and assign themselves responsibilities that will channel towards unifying the party.
