According to a report by Sahara reporters, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde said that Atiku hadn’t contacted or texted to express sympathy following the Ibadan explosion.
In response, Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential contender for 2023, commented.
Governor Makinde claimed that although Atiku, a party colleague, didn’t contact him, President Bola Tinubu did.
In a report by Sahara reporters, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 election whose name is Atiku Abubakar, responded to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s claim that Atiku hadn’t called or sent a text message to commiserate after the Ibadan explosion.
Governor Makinde asserted that President Bola Tinubu called him, but Atiku, a fellow party member, didn’t reach out.
In a statement issued by his media adviser, Paul Ibe, Atiku clarified that less than 24 hours after the explosion, he had conveyed a condolence year message expressing sympathy and solidarity with the government and people of Oyo State.
He emphasized that his message was publicly available and shared his empathy for the victims and their families.
Despite Governor Makinde’s claim, Atiku’s statement provided evidence of his prompt response to the tragic incident, underscoring the importance of accurate information in assessing leaders’ actions during crises.
