The Portuguese has been on the sidelines since late November after undergoing a surgery for a groin problem.
Mikel Arteta recently said that he could be out for a few more weeks, but it seems he could be ahead of schedule.
In pictures released by Arsenal today, Vieira was spotted in training wear alongside his teammates.
Vieira’s comeback would be a boost for Arsenal
The 23-year-old joined the Gunners from Porto for £34 million in June 2022 but he has since struggled for regular game time.
It appeared like that he could transform his fortunes this term after a blistering start, but he failed to sustain his form.
Despite this, his return would be a boost for the Gunners, considering he has been more effective off the bench for the club.
Vieira has four assists to his name this term with three of those coming from cameo appearances.
His dribbling ability and long-ball distribution are his strengths and Arsenal could do with his services in the coming months.
Arsenal don’t return to action until January 20 vs Crystal Palace. Vieira could be in the squad judging by his presence in training.
Apart from Vieira, Thomas Partey could also make his comeback from a thigh injury soon. He could be involved this month.
The Gunners are currently in a bad streak with 11 points dropped from five league games.
They must build a winning streak in the coming weeks to keep themselves in the hunt for the Premier League title this term.
