Governors from the Northern region have arrived in Yola, the capital of Adamawa state, for a crucial meeting. The North-East Governors’ Forum (NEGF) is holding its 9th quarterly meeting today, and the governors from Bauchi, Gombe, Yobe, Borno, and Taraba states have joined their host, Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa, for the event.
The meeting will focus on issues of common interest affecting the subregion, particularly on insecurity and infrastructural development. The North-East Development Commission (NEDC), Development Partners, and other relevant bodies are expected to attend the meeting. Governor Zulum, the Chairman of the Forum, declared the event open at the Government House in Jimeta-Yola. After a closed-door session, the Forum is expected to brief journalists on its resolutions.
