The Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja is currently hosting a crucial session of the National Economic Council (NEC), chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima. The Nigerian Constitution established NEC and operates under Section 153(1) and Paragraphs 18 & 19 of Part I of the Third Schedule. The council’s core mandate is to advise the President on the nation’s economic affairs, specifically focusing on coordinating financial planning efforts among the various tiers of government.
Governors from states including Kaduna, Bauchi, Ogun, Bayelsa, Kwara, Kogi, Jigawa, and several deputy governors were in attendance.
