Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus is set to start for Brazil in their World Cup qualifiers against Argentina on Wednesday, reports Ge Globo. The 26-year-old has not played for either club or country since he was withdrawn against Sevilla on October 24. Jesus picked up a hamstring injury in the Champions League match and has missed the five games Arsenal have played since then. The Gunners wanted him to remain in London during the international break and continue his recovery amid concerns that he is yet to fully recover from the soft tissue injury.
However, Brazil national team boss Fernando Diniz called him up to the international squad for their games against Colombia and Brazil. While the Arsenal star stayed behind at home for the Colombia clash, he is expected to start against Argentina as Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr has withdrawn from the squad after picking up a knock, while Neymar Jr also remains out of action. Gunners duo Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhaes are also expected to start in the game as it is a must-win for Brazil.
