The dik-dik antelope is the tiniest of all antelope species. The uninhabited regions of Eastern and Southern Africa are where you’ll most likely find them. Because of their incredible speed when running, predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs have no chance against a dik-dik.
One of the most fascinating things about these animals is that they invariably commit suicide after their companion dies. After the death of a loved one, it is common practice for Dik-diks to take their own lives out of despair and isolation. This rule is never broken unless right after a woman gives birth. When they reach adulthood, many young people decide to “emancipate” themselves from their parents and move out.
Their warden dik-diks predict a maximum of a four-year lifespan because to their prey’s high success rate. In addition, using animal skins to produce gloves is an inherently risky business practice.
