Nyesom Wike, the FCT minister, has announced that he will be mobilizing support for President Bola Tinubu during the 2027 elections. Wike made this announcement while hosting the leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Rivers State, led by the National Vice Chairman, South-South, Victor Giadom, in Abuja on Thursday.
He emphasized that people who scored only 2,000 in the 2023 elections would barely score anything in 2027. He added that he had no regrets about supporting President Tinubu in the 2023 election and that he stood for equity and justice. He promised to carry the Rivers APC and all Nigerians along, stating that he would never discriminate against anyone on the basis of religion, ethnicity, or political affiliations.
Wike said that it was essential to support President Tinubu irrespective of the political party one belongs to. He explained that his support for Tinubu was primarily based on the politician’s capacity and political will to take action. He also stated that he believed Tinubu was the best candidate from the South who could win the election.
He urged all members of the APC to work together to ensure the success of the administration and Nigeria. Victor Giadom, on behalf of the APC delegation from Rivers State, thanked Wike for his support for President Tinubu and encouraged him to carry members of the Rivers APC along.
