The All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a response to a press conference held earlier today by the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi. Obi, who is a former governor of Anambra state, had questioned President Bola Tinubu’s educational qualifications and background while urging him to reintroduce himself to Nigerians.
This was in reaction to the recent revelation by the Chicago State University (CSU) position that the certificate Tinubu submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission was not from the institution. In a statement signed by its national publicity secretary, Felix Morka, the APC criticized Obi’s statements, saying that he sounded like a broken record of Atiku Abubakar, reading a prepared statement provided by his unimaginative handlers and dishonest associates in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
It appears that Peter Obi has joined the bandwagon of those who are against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He made some remarks about the President’s certificate from the Chicago State University. However, Peter Obi’s comments seem to be more about seeking attention from the media, as opposed to making a meaningful contribution to the discourse.
He also called for the President to reintroduce himself to the Nigerian people, despite the fact that 8.9 million Nigerians voted for him in the last election and are aware of his track record and accomplishments. The ruling party has accused Peter Obi and Atiku of disrespecting Nigerian courts with their comments. Atiku himself has called for Tinubu’s resignation, but the party maintains that Nigerians voted for Tinubu with full faith and confidence in his abilities to help rebuild the country’s economy.
