Through their ambassador to the United Nations, Thomas Greenfield, the US government issued a warning to the Kenya Police who will be deployed in Haiti. The message, delivered on October 3, 2023, cautioned against any actions that would infringe upon the human rights of Haitian citizens.
The US government also stated that they will be closely monitoring the actions of the Kenya Police and other foreign troops involved in the mission to ensure that human rights are respected.
