FCT Minister Nyesom Wike says Nigeria’s economic problems cannot be solved quickly.

He made the remark on Thursday in Abuja, at his induction into the Idoma Hall of Fame.

He also defended the removal of fuel subsidy.

He said there are fewer strikes now than before.

He pointed to the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, teachers and university staff, and pensioners, who he said no longer strike as often.

He admitted that the high cost of living is a real concern, but said not every problem can be fixed at the same time.

“Solving the problem of the economy is not like healing somebody that is sick,” he said.
