In Abakaliki on Thursday, stakeholders in Ebonyi offered their opinions on a recent judicial judgment. Kachukwu Emmanuel, a political analyst and APC stakeholder praised the decision and saw it as a victory for the people of Ebonyi. He emphasized that the people had voted for the candidate and that there was no doubt about it.
Emmanuel congratulated the winner and the APC on their success. Meanwhile, Ifeanyi Nworie, the PDP deputy chair and a legal practitioner who was also on the PDP legal team, disagreed with the ruling.
He called on party members and supporters to remain calm and stated that the PDP would appeal the case in a higher court. Nworie was confident that justice would be served, and their mandate would be reclaimed.
The ruling of the tribunal was met with disappointment from the PDP secretary, Ogbuefi Zaccheaus, who stated that his party plans to take the matter to the appeal court.
Patricia Nweke, a civil servant, urged all political parties to support the declared winner and work towards the development of Ebonyi state. She emphasized that the court is the final resort for the average citizen and therefore, it is crucial for everyone to set aside their anger and support the winner’s efforts to improve the state.
